MT. MERU TREKKING

Leave footprints, take memories.

With 4562 meters, Mt. Meru is the second highest peak in Tanzania and the fifth highest in all of Africa. The journey to the top tends to take three to four days and begins joined by an armed ranger , at Momella Gate. After five to six hours you arrive at Meriakamba Hut. The second day is spent ascending to Saddle Hut, usually with a brief diversion to the summit of Little Meru to see the sunset. The final day is summit day. After getting a pre-dawen start, you will trek past Rhino Point on 3800 meters and on to Cobra Point 4350 where you will see the sunrise over the plains of East Africa. Finally you are hiking back down to the gate of Meriakamba Hut.

ARUSHA NATIONALPARK

At the foot of Mt. Meru.

Famous for its biodiversity Arusha Nationalpark lures with plains, swamps, lakes, waterfalls, craters and forests. The spectacular landscape highlights are the Meru crater funnels, the Kekukumia River, the peak of Meru, the Ngurdoto crater and the shallow alkaline Momella lakes. As well the park accommodates the worlds largest population of giraffes and the unique colobus monkeys.

TARANGIRE NATIONALPARK

Elefants Paradise

Tarangire is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees, that can live up to 600 years, storing between 300 and 900 litres of water. The vegetation is very green with lots of elephant grass and mixed acacia woodlands. The most dominant feature of the park is the Tarangire River, the park was named after. Even though it is usually nearly dry for most of the year, during rains it gets impassable.

NGORONGORO CRATER

The largest intact caldera in the world.

The natural wonder of Ngorongoro was formed when a large volcano erupted and collapsed on itself. The Crater composes an incredible amount of wildlife, ranging from leopard, cheetah, elephant and hyena to warthog, buffalo, black rhino and black maned lions.

MKOMAZI NATIONALPARK

A stunning landscape adventure.

Set below the slopes of Usambara and Pare Eastern Arc Mountain ranges Mkomazi is famous for its Rhino Sanctuary. Meanwhile it has a thinly populated and quite skittish wildlife. It is shows up with dry landscape, consisting of scattered grey green scrubby bushes interspersed with savannah woodland and grassland.

CLIMBING KILIMANJARO

Sky is the limit.

To climb up the highest free standing mountain in the world and the most famous summit in Tanzania, there are seven main trekking routes. Machame, Marangu, Rongai, Lemosho, Shira, The Northern Circuit and Umbwe route. The Western Breach, an advanced and technically challenging route is meant for experienced trekkers only.
